„Nature in free delivery – a symposium on the risky commerce of nature“ – this was the title of the 6th “Hamburg Talks on Nature Conservation“, initiated by the Michael Otto Stiftung in November 2009. Approximately 150 participants representing business, politics, science and non-governmental organisations took part in the all-day symposium, following the lectures from top-class speakers. Among others, Prof. Dr. Michael Succow, awarded with the Right Livelihood Award, Dr. Ladislav Miko, Minister of the Environment of the Czech Republic und EU-politician, or Gerd Billen, Executive Director of the Federation of German Consumer Organisations, spoke on the topic.
The results of the day were discussed in a panel discussion, moderated by Corinna Lampadius, presenter of German well-known television magazine “Spiegel-TV”. A get-together with finger food and drinks closed the symposium and provided opportunity for talks and networking in a casual atmosphere.
