The Helms Museum is Hamburg's archaeological state museum. It concentrates on prehistory and early history with a special focus on north Germany and the history of Harburg. The museum has one of the world's largest collections of archaeological objects from north Germany. The museum holds special exhibitions which change throughout the year. The history of Harburg and the regional history of the Lüneburg heath lands form a second focus. The museum is based in a former fire station.
To mark the 100th birthday of Max Schmeling the Helms Museum will be presenting the only exhibition personally authorised by the boxer, "Max Schmeling - The Boxer" from 30th September to 31st December 2005. In addition to including sponsors and organising and implementing a selection of special events and measures, the agency will be publicising the exhibition.
